zimbabwean music not going global... who is to blame?

Zimbabwean music not going global... Who is to blame?
That is just one of the questions people ask amongst themselves and some people just have to let it out #freedomtoexpressyourself. Recently Zimbabweans on social media have been exchanging words and this is all because none of our own was nominated for the MTV African Music Awards and yes most people in the industry are wondering why?
As a community are we supposed to blame each other the artists/singers (coz yes some of these people haven't worked hard enough to be called an artist) the producers the djs or is it the fans fault. There is loads of Zimbabweans doing work for outside people (non zimbo) underground aren't those the same people who should be giving advice to us on how to improve and step forward to live the dream!

Tynie: we are not slacking, yeh I do agree with Nox Guni with some of his points that we need an original beat, don't get me wrong what we are doing now is hot but just for us. KillerT just dropped to me and others the hottest album of the year...it's zimdancehall it's inspirational it's calm but that's just me. Maskiri in 2014 did a song with a Jamaican singer Meliah called amai kani which Moe Makaya featured on that was good and he just did another one with Keisha White a lot of criticism on social media yes I would say it's not an amazing song but he's opening doors, these kind of artists start on something and working together as one it can be made so perfect it's about communicating interacting and being humble.
I was a dj on radio and I still will be (watch out for that) in the time I was doing that I noticed you have to have a link a connection to the singers to actually get hold of their music I mean I thought I was promoting my own and trying to put them on a next level but it seemed like I was the only one bothered. Then you turn around and say we don't support... but back to the point!
Zimbabwean music there is no one to blame because we didn't get something the big reward is coming but it comes with hard work, we are on our way there and already the first step was recognising where we going wrong! I wish everyone in the industry all the best and don't be corky because you got on a plane to England and performed for a full house, stay focused and yes we will hate but take all that and use it to make yourself better, when your fellow artists make something good don't be afraid to hunger for the same thing and make it even better. Do not under estimate people, that one person you turning your back on is probably the one whose got all the answers to your success. About 2 years ago Tinashe was a special guest at the ZAA did you think she was going to be making headlines alonside Beyonce, Drake, Usher etc but shes there aint she?

Zvinhu zvacho hazvisi zvekumhaya... kumhanyira kumedza kutsenga uchada! Our time will come as long as we unite and we true to ourselves and we are humble. Ungajahi!!!

Awards Ceremony founded in 2010 by Conrad Mwanza have already made their stamp in the African community, celebrating their 5th year alongside the nomminees who have worked hard in the past years to be recognized with such a big organisation everyone is excited and looking foward to the event (i know i am) Z.A.A. is the pinnacle of celebration of talent, art, business, expression and achievement in the Zimbabwean community throughout a very broad spectrum of genre, born out of a simple vision. The Z.A.A is a distinctly special awards ceremony seeking to recognise Zimbabweans who have pushed the limits against all odds to raise the Zimbabwean flag high and do both themselves and their fellow countrymen proud. The Z.A.A. has become one of the most important events in the African community.

In 2014 the awards ceremony were on fleek great venue, amazing hosts and good food, i personally had an amazing night. It was different in every way very high class and just about right time keeping. It showed that Zimbabweans are really united. To me it broke down the different types of people we are even as a community but the little contributions we do makes up one word Zimbabweans and i am proud to be part of that. Here is some highlights of the night...

ZIMBABWE CUP CLASH 2015 (10th year annivesary)

They brought you the sold out show cup clash 2014, with over 1000 people turning up including big promoters, big djs and sponsors.
Lately its been all about zimdancehall, with great ambassadors it has managed to dominate the uk and parts of Africa, and King Alfred (New Generation/ JamrockRadio) has been working hard to cover of parts of the world.

A place where people enjoy themselves.

A place where you learn one or two things about how Zimbabweans party.
A place where you experience how Zimbabwean deejays rise to any occasion.

A place where you experience how more than 1000 Zimbabwean ravers don't need security because of unity and love.

Celebrating its 10th year anniversary New Generation entertainment presents ZIMBABWE CUP CLASH UK 2015 –KING ALFRED.
Days moving, tension building, for it is that time of the year again were 2 Djs Dancehall and Afrobeats are crowned best clashing Dj. The question is who is going to kill and who is going to be killed we will find out on 28 March 2015 at Dunstable Leisure Center. With hot food on sale all night, a great venue a full bar and the best entertainment over 1000 ravers turn up to witness and be the judges of this musical event.

here is the highlights of 2014...

In 2014 everyone witnessed Dj Envy being crowned the dancehall champion and Drima Boys taking the trophy once again with the afrobeats. Back again this year Envy will be defending his given title will he take it again this year? With stacks raised a bit higher as Dj Fidelis just scooped SA cup and will be flying in from Zimbabwe mainly for the clash will our very own djs stand a chance ot the trophy will be flying back to zimbabwe with him. Dancehall Defenda too the chance and will be joining Envy and Fidelis in the dancehall clash.
Simply Dubz was runner up 2 years in a row but is back this year combined with our very own Dj Nyari whose been clashing for years been dj of the year more than once alongside Silvaa King as TeamOneLove, do they have what it takes to be crowned. Afrobeats clash will also be joined by new moneys Dj Principal who took part in the dancehall one last year (i guess he realised dancehall has got too much competition) and also Dj Stumma injection sound. Which leaves Drima Boyz out of the question as they have won twice in a roll maybe its time for them to leave it for Simply Dubz. The interesting part is there is going to be a wild card for both categories and this will only be reviewed on a near date who could it be? Having killerT part of the show made the sales ratings and the night a sell out as he delivered a perfomance of his life to date, in the audience where fans of the clash fans of music people just for the clash and some there to interact, got to give it to New Generation King Klfred for being able to bring the community together.
Supporting this clash is zimuk based artists including Jusa Dementor, Moe Makaya etc who will be perfoming live #supportlocalmusic(not to be missed)

Zimbabwe Cup Clash Is not only about deejays battling to be crowned a champ but its all
about bringing everyone together under one roof and get to know each other no matter what we go through in our everyday lives.Over the years this event has managed to expose so many hidden talent out there especially from artists and deejays. This show has also managed to attract local sponsors to be part of it. It has attracted so many patrons from all walks of life..Some even fly all the way from Australia //USA// Ireland //Scotland // Wales to just come and witness this event #KingAlfred

winner takes all £1000 who is going to be? Countdown begins...you can get your tickets now for £10 contact King Alfred or David Chihota

WHO IS NINJA KID?!

When many people hear the name ninja kid it is easily related to Maninja and the Ninja president Winky D. Although the name is familiar within the ZimDanceHall circles ninja who was born Shelton Jack Masvii on 1st July 1994 and is the last born in the family of 5. He grew up in Chitungwiza which is known as the heart of ZimDanceHall in Zimbabwe which has also produced artists such as Guspy Warrior and Dadza D.

He burst on to the scene in 2012 and has not stopped with many hit songs like Ndofira Kureva, Hatiende Kumba and Ndini Ninja Kid Wacho. ZimDanceHall is a competitive industry in a small market and Ninja has held his own by impressing crowds with his lyrical talent and stage presence. He made his way onto the ZimDanceHall arena with singles and appearances in the Zimbo Flavour, Demolition, and Diffusion riddim medleys. Since the Chitungwiza native has been a regular feature on ridimms across the nation from top producers and continues to work hard to reach his goals. Inspired by Winky D and I-octane the versatile ninja signed to Abra tribe in January 2014 and with the productions of African award winner Jusa Dementor and guidance of Abra Simzz, ninja looks more than ready to become a seasoned veteran within the Zimbabwean music industry.

After listening to Ninja Kid - Ndini Ninja Kid Wacho I wanted to find out more about this ZimDancehall artist, and had an opportunity to ask a few questions.

Tynie: What inspired you to join the music industry as a ZimDancehall artist?
Ninja: I was inspired by I-octane and Winky D
Tynie: so when should we expect a collaboration of Ninja Kid and Winky D?
Ninja: Anything is possible in the future is the most high allows it to happens but someone i looked up to when i started i would be honored to work with him.
Tynie: Who would you like to share a stage with?
Ninja: I would love to share the stage with many of the well known names in the Zimbabwe scene but would love to share the stage with anyone internationally
Tynie: When should we expect your first album?
Ninja: I'm yet to work on an album, but I am keen on working on one in the near future
Tynie: You responded to Seh Calaz - Mafia kureva, why was this?
Ninja: I have nothing against Seh Calaz but i felt as a veteran Winky D would not retaliate so i took it upon myself to respond. I believe we ought to respect those who came before us and Winky is a legend in our young industry and ought to be treated with respect.
Tynie: Having so many artists in the industry what keeps you going??
Ninja: My faith keeps me going and the dream i have to succeed not only in music but in life
Tynie: Why join abra tribe?
Ninja: I joined Abra Tribe because i needed assistance in furthering my career but i quickly realized that it was more than a team but a family that believed in my potential and would do anything to see me do well. For that i am thankful
Tynie:  If you never had the opportunity to sing, what would you have done instead and why?
Ninja: I probably would have been a footballer, i used to play for Dynamos Juniors
Tynie:  Do you play any instruments and what’s your favourite?
Ninja: I don't play any instruments  but i would love to learn.
Tynie: You have performed enough times, is there that one person you always see at all your shows showing some love
Ninja: I perform on a regular basis and run into different acts all the time
Tynie:  If you were to have a super power what would you prefer and why?
Ninja: If i were a super hero i would be Superman  l  enjoy helping  people
Tynie: If you were an animal what would you be?
Ninja: If I were an animal i would be a monkey because l love monkeys they and they  look like  Ninjas lol.
Tynie: If you were to have a super power what would you prefer and why?
Ninja: If I were a super hero i would be Superman, l enjoy helping  people
Tynie:  What’s your idea of a perfect date?
Ninja: I'm a simple guy and a simple dinner & movie is good enough for me, its about getting to know someone for me
Tynie: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Ninja: I see myself as an established artist making a difference for the better in this industry. I would love to travel all over especially expanding across Africa.

Music industry in Zimbabwe is tough you don't know who your fans are, it seems like there is more artists than fans, but that doesn't stop some people with a dream! Ninja Kid has been working hard ever since he stepped into the game, and with the help of Abra Tribe I'm expecting greater things from him. He will be on his first UK tour (Zvirikufaya) alongside Terminator, Ricky Fire, Celcius and many more from 26 September to 4 October, for more details 07908258429. MANINJAAAAA!!!
